Rules & Regulations
Last updated: 29 June 2026
These Rules & Regulations apply to participation in PR0JECT_1 and other PR0TOCOL events. By registering for an event and ticking the agreement box, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these rules, including the Assumption of Risk & Waiver in Section 9.
01General
- The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute these Rules & Regulations, or any aspect of the event, at any time without prior notice. Updates are published on the official website and take effect immediately.
- Where there is any ambiguity, the Organiser has sole authority to interpret these rules, taking into account the interest of all participants. The Organiser's decision is final and binding.
- It is the participant's responsibility to keep informed of any updates. The Organiser is not liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from a failure to do so.
02Eligibility & Registration
- Participants must register under the correct category (Men's or Women's) and provide true, accurate, and complete information.
- Participants under the age of 18 may only take part with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these rules on their behalf.
- Registrations are personal and non-transferable. A participant may not swap, sell, or allow another person to use their registration or start slot.
- The Organiser reserves the right to limit or refuse entry, and to suspend, disqualify, or reassign any participant who provides false information, registers in the wrong category, or acts against the interest of the event — without refund.
- It is the participant's duty to ensure their own legal eligibility and physical fitness to participate.
03Race Format & Participation
- PR0JECT_1 is a timed 1KM treadmill effort. Participants are assigned a start time, heat, or wave, and must report on time for identity verification and the safety briefing.
- All treadmills are standardised and calibrated by race control to ensure fairness. Participants must use only the treadmill assigned to them and must not adjust, tamper with, or interfere with the equipment outside of permitted controls.
- Participants must check in and complete identity verification before their effort, using their IC and PR0TOCOL member number. Participants who cannot be verified may be removed from the event by officials.
- A participant who starts before their official start signal may be disqualified. Wave or heat starts may apply.
- Participants must follow the instructions of race control, officials, and medical staff at all times, and must stop immediately if instructed or if they feel unwell.
04Timing & Results
- Official times are recorded and verified by race control. The Organiser's recorded time is final for ranking purposes.
- Results and rankings may be published on PR0TOCOL leaderboards, the athlete index, and broadcast displays, showing your name, category, time, and rank.
- Results are final once published, subject to the Organiser's dispute process. Timing recorded outside of valid conditions may be voided.
05Conduct & Prohibited Actions
- All participants must conduct themselves in a sporting manner.
- Tampering with equipment, impeding others, unsporting conduct, or any form of foul play or fraud will result in disqualification at the Organiser's discretion.
- Swapping, transferring, or allowing another person to take your place or start slot is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
06Medical & Safety
- While the Organiser takes all reasonable measures to ensure safety, participants take part at their own risk.
- Participants are strongly advised to undergo a medical examination or consult a medical professional before registering and before event day, and to ensure they are physically fit to participate.
- The Organiser may provide medical assistance including first aid, CPR, or evacuation. Participants consent to receive treatment deemed necessary by medical personnel and agree to bear any associated costs.
- Participants must retire from the event immediately if required to do so by any official, medical staff, or race control.
07Prizes & Podium
- Each participant is eligible to win only one prize or podium award in their registered category.
- Winners must present their original identification document (NRIC or Passport) to claim any prize or prize money. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture, with no appeals entertained.
- A participant found to be disqualified may be replaced, and the Organiser reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.
08Media Rights
The Organiser reserves the right to use any photograph, recording, or other media of the event (including images of participants) taken before, during, or after the event, for any legitimate purpose including marketing, broadcast, and distribution to sponsors, without additional compensation.
09Assumption of Risk, Waiver & Release of Liability
- The participant accepts and agrees that the event carries certain inherent dangers and risks, which may or may not be readily foreseeable, including without limitation personal injury, damage to property, or death, and that their participation is voluntary in spite of such risks.
- The participant warrants that they are in good physical condition, have made sufficient preparation, and are able to participate safely, and that they are fully aware of the risks inherent in the event, including the possibility of serious physical trauma, injury, or death.
- In consideration of being accepted to participate, the participant (including their heirs, personal representatives, executors, and administrators) agrees to:
- accept and assume all risks and dangers in connection with their participation;
- to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, agree that neither the Organiser, its officers, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, partners, venue providers, related corporations, and affiliates (collectively the "Releasees") shall be liable in any manner for any cost, loss, damage, injury, or death caused by participation in the event;
- fully and forever release the Releasees from any and all liability of whatsoever nature and howsoever arising, including any negligent rescue operation and any other form of negligence, to the broadest extent permitted by the laws of Malaysia; and
- waive and relinquish the right to sue or take any action against the Releasees for any claims, losses, or damages on account of any injury, death, damage to property, or any other cause of action, whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence, fault, act, or omission of the Releasees or otherwise.
10Refund Policy
- PR0JECT_1 is currently offered free of charge. No fees are collected and no refunds apply.
- Registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable.
- No refund will be made for a participant who does not take part for any reason, for wrongful or multiple registrations, or where an event is postponed or cancelled (including due to force majeure). Where paid registration is introduced in future, the same no-refund policy applies.
11Acknowledgement
By registering for the event and ticking the agreement box, the participant confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Rules & Regulations, including the Assumption of Risk & Waiver above, and to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
